| 1日齢における血中免疫グロブリンG（IgG）濃度が基準値未満の場合に受動免疫移行不全（FPT）と診断されるが，子牛が肥育牧場や育成牧場に導入される1週齢前後のFPT基準値は報告されていない. 本研究は, 血清IgGおよび総タンパク質（TP）濃度の経時的変化を調べ, 7日齢の検査値を用いたFPT診断精度について検証した. ホルスタイン種（HS）43頭, 黒毛和種（JB）34頭を用いた. 1日齢と7日齢に採血を行い, 血清IgG（mg/mℓ）およびTP濃度（g/dℓ）を測定した. 1日齢と7日齢において, IgGとTPの間に強い正の相関関係が認められた. 1日齢のIgGとTPの散布図において, 近似曲線の一次方程式にFPT基準値（HS-IgG: 10.0, JB-IgG: 20.0）を代入して求めたTP濃度（HS-TP: 4.6, JB-TP: 5.3）を1日齢のFPT基準値とした. HS-IgG, HS-TPおよびJB-IgGは, 1日齢〜7日齢にかけて有意に減少した. 1日齢〜7日齢の平均変化率は, HS-IgG: 71.7%, HS-TP: 92.2%, JB-IgG: 73.8%, JB-TP: 95.4%であった. 1日齢のFPT基準値に平均変化率を乗じて7日齢のFPT基準値とした（HS-IgG: 7.2, HS-TP: 4.2, JB-IgG: 14.8, JB-TP: 5.1）. 7日齢の血液検査において, FPT基準値未満であった場合を検査陽性とし, FPTの診断精度について検証した. | Dystocia is often lethal for neonatal foals; however, its clinicopathological features remain largely unknown. We investigated the effect of dystocia on the foal blood profile. Venous blood samples were collected from 35 foals (5 Percheron and 30 crossbreds between Percheron, Belgian, and Breton heavy draft horses) at 0 hr, 1 hr, 12 hr and 1 day after birth. Dystocia was defined as prolonged labor >30 min with strong fetal traction with or without fetal displacement. | 道東の2農場にて出生したホルスタイン乳用子牛計36頭を用い，牽引の程度が子牛の活力，血液ガス，血清免疫グロブリン （Ig） G濃度に及ぼす影響を調査した．牽引状況を数値化するために，牽引強度と牽引時間をそれぞれ4段階 （0~3） で評価しスコア化したものを掛け合わせて牽引スコア （0~9） とし，牽引スコアの値によって子牛を自然分娩群（0），軽度牽引群（1），中程度牽引群（2~3）および重度牽引群（4~9）の4群に分類した．活力の評価には，ヒトのApgarスコアを子牛用に改変したものを用い，出生3分後に評価した．子牛の採血は頸静脈より行った．結果，Apgarスコアは自然分娩群と比較し軽度牽引群，重度牽引群で有意に低下した （それぞれp<0.05）．出生5分後の静脈血水素イオン指数（ pH） は，中程度から重度の牽引群において自然分娩群から軽度牽引群までと比較して有意に低下し （p<0.01），二酸化炭素分圧 （pCO2） は有意に増加した （p<0.005） が，重炭酸イオン濃度（ HCO3−） はどの時点においても群間に差は認めなかった （p>0.75）．また，出生24時間後の血清IgG濃度は自然分娩群と牽引群の間には有意な差は認めなかったが，牽引群内で重度になるにつれ低下し，軽度・重度牽引群間で有意差が認められた （p<0.05）．さらに，出生5分後の静脈血pHと24時間後血清IgG濃度との間に有意な相関が認められた... |

| A healthy 71-day-old female Japanese Black calf was evaluated for fracture of the left humerus. The left humeral fracture was treated by closed repair and unilateral external skeletal fixation (ESF) with an epoxy putty fixator. The calf was active, and eight days after surgery slipped and fell, resulting in breakage of the ESF. The calf underwent repair by transfixation pinning and casting (TPC), which is an alternative to the ESF method. The TPC was removed 37 days after the first surgery, and the calf could bear weight on the left forelimb while walking. This case suggests that recovery after closed repair with TPC for a humeral fracture in an active calf can be successfully managed on the farm. |
